If you haven't read or ever heard of Maria Shriver's book, Ten Things I wish I'd Known- Before I went Out into the Real World, you should. For me to recommended a book is a huge deal. I'm not much of a reader (well, other than the trashy Danielle Steel books) and I flew through Shriver's book like it was a news paper.

Hey Brando!...explore your options, look and apply for jobs where ever you want to go. Just go with a plan..At least you will feel better about your temporary existance in the NY..Hope is a wonderful thing. You must be happy where you exist. Tears get in they way when youre trying to make your next move. Hard to see the print from the ol tears Brando.
